    We were in Kathmandu to attend my sons wedding. Being unsure about where to stay we picked Baber Mahal Vilas based on its ratings and location close to the centre (I never did work out where the centre was!) Nothing prepared us for the hustle and bustle that we found in Kathmandu, I would suggest for the first time visitor everything appeared to be in chaos. The Vilas were a perfect refuge, an oasis, the quietness and stillness was welcome at the end of the day. The staff were exceptional we cannot fault this hotel and recommend to tourists and travellers alike that this is the place to stay in Kathmandu.

    An excellent small hotel with a very nice and polite personnel. Good breakfasts and dinners. A good site, close to Thamel and Durbar Square. We had a nice and clean room with very good service. Nice Himalaya view from the hotel rooftop. I recommend asking hotel manager about assistance in organization of your tours. He was very helpful to us and the price we got was competitive. Picking up and dropping off the taxi in front of the hotel. Good price and very kind service. I would recommend this hotel to everybody.

    Due to flight delays, bad weather and flight diversions, with no way to contact the BMV, we arrived more then 24 hours late for our booking. We were greeted with open arms and there was an expression of concern to our well being! Not enough could be done for us. Despite the hotel being fully booked, a new room (not yet launched) was prepared for us. I can honestly say, I felt more like I had arrived at old friends rather then a hotel! The Hotel Manager was extremely, friendly & professional. He also took the time to take me for a hotel tour, explaining the wonderful history. I did feel rather special. I have been coming to Nepal for over 32 years and have stayed at all the big name, world wide known Hotel brands. But this Boutique, elegant hotel, is more charming, more personal then any I have stayed before. You get so much more for your money, I will always stay here on future trips.

    Amazing hospitality. The staff especially Prabin, Shreya and Nirutha were amazing. This have been one of my best stay so far.
