    I love this place. It's perfect for a weekend in the mountains, biking or hiking. Lovely and quiet, and with a nice restaurant. The rooms are spotless and simply but tastefully decorated. I've stayed here twice and both times my room had a balcony (I don't know if that applies to all rooms).

    Altenauer Dorfwirt was in a laid back, rural, and peaceful village with the only distractions of church and cow bells. Owners were over the top friendly and welcoming of myself and four legged friend, bringing a blanket, bowl of water, and treats wherever we were. The hotel has ambiance, history, and was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities in a room with a balcony! Meals were superb and the restaurant was busy with guests and locals alike! The attention will make you feel you were the only guest! Belle, my boxer dog and I will return! Super hiking area with paths out your front door and touristy towns nearby.
