The room we stayed in had been updated superbly and left the old original fire place as it was ! Bed comfy ! All really good and definitely more than we expected looking from the outside at an old traditional Pub - excellent !

The Anchor Inn is a fabulous place to stay! Luxurious rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff were very attentive and the food is amazing. Would definitely return, this is a real ‘find’.

So welcoming and friendly. Really kind to our two Cockapoos too. Fantastic location in the heart of three Village with wonderful walks at hand. We stayed in the Pooh room so I was thrilled. Rooms were immaculate and had everything you need. Very highly recommend.

Jonty and the team at The Anchor run a tight ship and couldn't have done more to make our stay any better. We arrived in time for a splendid lunch, and I am always delighted to find dog-friendly dining areas because, to me, this is a sign of a civilised establishment indeed. We were dog-free this time, but it's good to know that our hound would be welcome there on another visit. Our room was spotlessly clean with wonderful linen and a huge, comfortable bed. Jonty even recommended a local taxi firm which, at late notice, was able to ferry us to our afternoon destination at a very reasonable rate. All the staff were friendly and very hospitable, and we were made to feel very welcome even though we were only passing through for one night. I'm sure The Anchor is well-loved by the locals of Hartfield, and if we are ever heading down that way again we would book up another night in a flash.
