    We felt very comfortable in our small stone house and we could relax very well! Nice location with super cute cats. Close to the beach and good hiking trails.

    So unusual, Hidden deep in the deep in the mountains yet handy for the beach and amenities at Makry Gialos , this hotel delivers a trip back in time, something you will never forget. Very good for children to see a bit of living history, see how their grandparents lived, every room is an old cottage with oil lamps and authentic Greek furnishings. The small amount of modern necessities are carefully blended into to historical tapestry. If you like an experience as well as a holiday this is the place for you. Highly recommended! I was especially grateful that they allowed my small, well behaved dog to stay too. That is vitally important for me!

    Something completely different which we loved. Loved using the oil lamps at night. Made it so cosy. Don't expect luxury but such a great experience which was very peaceful and perfect for 2 night. Great options for food and beaches in the nearby area.

    We came back to crete just for Asprospotamos, best experience for some quiet and comfortable holidays. The whole concept is great, very good quality , the bed and pillows so good! Very clean, they clean the toilet every day and change of bedsheets every two days. I can’t thanks enough to all the people working there, from the owner, to the receptionists till the young lady cleaning the rooms , for made our stay so good! And don’t forget the cats, very lovely and friendly cats !!

    Our stay in Aspros Potamos was a bliss! The place is so isolated and peaceful, but you can be in heart of Makris Gialos in just a few minutes with a car. I loved the aesthetics and how the place is designed and built, the colors, the hidden patios... Last but not least, Ellie was a delight, always at our disposal, taking care of us and everything else. We will definitely visit it again!

    Beautiful clean rooms set in the old stone buildings. Very cute verandas and kitchens for cooking and eating with a wonderful view and very friendly cats. All the ladies are so friendly and made us feel very welcome.

    This place is very special, you may like it or not at all. For us it was the most significant place of our trip. My kids (8 and 11) loved the idea of a rustic room, oli lamps, and a general atmosphere that in a way reminds the camping, but with a intellectual touch.

    Amazing location and really unique accommodation. Great staff and breakfast. Short drive to the beach or the near by mountains village with great food. We found the place very relaxing and in tune with nature. I have never stayed in place like this before!
