Hotel and room excellent . Clean and staff were friendly and helpful . Had a meal at night , very good , but a little expensive. We hadn't booked for breakfast but were told , by two members of staff that we could have breakfast . My wife only likes a small breakfast and was told that was fine , but no one mentioned that it was a standard price for breakfast , no maater what you had!!!!!!!!! So we had to pay for a small bowl of porridge and a pot of tea , the standard rate which is almost £15. We were very disappointed that no one mentioned this to us , even when ordering only a bowl of porridge. But hotel was ,comfortable and clean . But this was a little disappointment . So please beware of this rule!!!!!!!!!

The location of the property is ideal for walking the Cateran Trail and that was why we booked that hotel. There is plenty of free parking. The twin room we were given was ideal for a comfortable night’s stay. The en-suite had a nice bath which is what you want after a day’s walking and there was plenty of hot water. The room was warm enough and the tea making facilities were perfect. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space. The breakfast was very good and the eggs were made to order so couldn’t fault it. The staff were very nice and explained everything you needed to know about breakfast. We didn’t eat an evening meal there as we had other plans.
