Excellent location. Beautiful historic building. Free shuttle bus to downtown Banff and, in weekend, to Gondola terminal too.

The Fairmont in Banff aka the Castle in the Rockies is a beautiful property in a great location. The walk along the Bow River and the Falls into the town was really beautiful. From the easy check in outside (they are very organized) to the delightful restaurants and spa facilities, this was a very enjoyable stay. Vermillion was our go to breakfast place. We also ate there for dinner (it turns into a French restaurant)...delicious! We also ate at Costello on property which did not disappoint. The room was a bit small, but very comfortable.

The location was incredible. Service was amazing. The view from our room was beyond anything we had imagined. The location just a mile from the town of Banff allowed us access to anything we needed and a variety of places to eat. We also received some great ideas from the concierge.

The hotel is "iconic" and therefore a must to visit. Expensive but a necessary expense for a unique experience, and the costs of keeping this huge hotel building operating must be enormous Valet parking, concierge service and check in were very efficient Very good and varied retail outlets in the hotel. The local artists etc and their work was impressive Complimentary shuttle bus into Banff We dined at the 1888 "Chophouse". Quieter than the other large restaurant and Adam was probably the most polished waiter I have encountered in 45 years. So much so I wondered if he was a senior staff member leading from the front showing others how to do the job properly.

The view was nice, but in that area most places would have a view of the mountains.
