This intimate property is located within the Garden Route, 10 km from Plettenberg Bay and 24 km from Knysna. It offers elegant, thatched-roofed suites and non-thatched rooms and free WiFi is available throughout.

Each individually decorated, air-conditioned suite and room at Hunter's Country House features tea/coffee facilities, a minibar and certain suites feature a fireplace. Some also have their own private terrace with a pool and garden.

Guests can enjoy a glass of wine around the outdoor boma with couches and a fireplace. Breakfast is served in the conservatory, while light lunches and dinners are available by reservation in the dining room or outdoors on the lawn.

A large, outdoor swimming pool is on site, along with a childrens play area. Hunter's Country House also has a shared library with a fireplace.

Area activities include golfing, horse riding, boat trips, nature walks and swimming with seals. The Tenikwa Wild Cat Sanctuary, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are all within 30 minutes’ drive.

    This is a very special property with beautiful grounds and very beautiful accommodation. The breakfast room and the food itself was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable and the crackling fire in the fireplace was lovely. I wanted to stay longer. Dinner at Zinzi was also very excellent.

    The lodges were super clean , fantastic interior and beatiful view on the garden and surrounding nature . Even the kudu's came close to our lodge. We enjoyed a fantastic private dinner , starting with a drink in the main building at the open fire. Breakfast was fantastic and second day we had dinner in the other restaurant Tsala , which is on the same property at walking distance. As nights were still quite cold ( winter time ) , the staff put the open fire on the lodge . This is one of the best places we stayed during our holidays in South-Africa . We recommend also to visit the elephant sanctuary and the Monkey land at Crags in Plettenberg Bay : fantastic experience walking with elephants and seeing all these Monkeys closeby .

    The breakfast was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. There was a lovely fire in the beautiful dining room and the cutlery was sophisticated silverware. This is real old world charm and elegance of a bygone era. The service was absolutely superb and our vehicle was even washed prior leaving. We received a farewell gift and had a turn down service every night. The gardens are absolutely beautiful as well as the interior decoration of the apartments. Excellent quality percale linen and Charlotte Rhys amenities. Keep up the excellent service!

    The Country house went over and above to meet our expectations. The rooms were magnificent, but even more so the friendliness and the availability of all the staff created such an atmosphere of comfort and excellence-we were overwhelmed and would surely advise any and all to take a step into next level accommodation and care.
