The comfortable, clean and when the shutters closed, surprisingly quiet room opened onto a fragrant balcony. The lush garden a retreat from the bustle of Catania. Breakfast excellent. The station for the special Etna train was just a few minutes away as was the Metro.

Breakfast was excellent, fresh pastries every morning, excellent coffee. The rooms are characterful and the host is great. Hard for me to imagine a nicer place to stay so close to the centre.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely with our own private outside seating. Each morning our hostess Maria Teresa served us a lovely breakfast out on the terrace and on the hottest days even served us her own homemade Granita which was delicious. Our breakfast always included some of her own home grown delicious pears and plums. On our second last day we took a day trip to Etna with Maria Teresa as our guide. A trip that was both beautiful and informative. Maria Teresa speaks very good English which also made the trip even more enjoyable. The trip was rounded off with a lovely lunch at a lovely cabin restaurant in the mountains. We hope to come back again in the near future and look forward to staying here again.

I can't rate 'Inn the Garden' highly enough!! Every single part of our stay was absolutely perfect. The guesthouse itself is an oasis in the city with absolutely stunning gardens and beautiful rooms. The family that run the guesthouse are amazing, they were so helpful and friendly for our entire stay, giving us loads of recommendations and even offering to book our taxi to the airport. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!! The location is great, nice stroll into the city, or minutes away from the metro and bus stops. The only bad thing I could say is that our stay was not long enough, we definitely could have spent more than 3 nights here!
