    Large room with extremely comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean room. Breakfast was excellent and parking right outside the hotel door. Perfect central location for exploring Kumamoto. We booked at short notice as the hotel we had booked was awful and then stayed an extra night due to a Typhoon coming in but theres was no trouble checking in or extending another night at all. Staff were brilliant.

    Great stay with access to JR Kumamoto via tram and the airport via bus. Nice beds and room view of the castle. Breakfast was good as well. As a fan of older hotels I personally liked the style of the rooms. Staff was always friendly, however おもてなし towards foreigners could be improved as I felt that it was a bit more challenging for them and that the staff was nervous, although we simply greeted the staff once we entered (no need to panic). My biggest thank you goes to the elderly lady who was cleaning the smoking area outside of the hotel. ˙ᵕ˙ And I loved the magazine in the room with good information about Kumamoto !

    The property is in an excellent location, opposite the castle (which is currently under renovation). The room was extremely spacious and beautiful - with great views of the castle The staff were extremely helpful, especially the gentleman on the cloak room who helped us book an excursion to the Takachiho gorge.

    It is a historical hotel and it maintains in quite good condition. Good location with walking distance to shop area. Breakfast waitress is very considerate; when she found we could not speak Japanese and hardly to explain in English, she immediately ask her colleague who could speak Chinese to assist. Air con in the room is very quiet and it does not disturb your sleep.

    The location was great. Very accessible to shopping mall and different restaurants. Plus the Kumamoto Castle was just across the street.

    I stayed I a corner room that was very spatious and well designed with the sitting area overlooking the Kumamoto castle. The location was perfect, close to everything.
