    Probably the best room I have been in my whole life, real luxury for a very, very good price. The views are breathtaking, breakfast was amazing and the attention received from Doug and Stella was outstanding, thank you guys!

    The hosts are the best part of the property, they are warm, accommodating and genuinely caring individuals ready with tips on the best spots in the town. Their place is in a serene setting by the river, you wake up to an amazing sunrise with the sounds of birds and the gentle flow of water...magical!

    Awesome location above the Bushmans River, On arrival you are welcomed by the local Impala that reside on the property! The Hosts were fantastic and room was extremely clean & comfortable.

    We had a very warm welcome by the hosts. The view of the river is amazing.The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious and a good variety. Not too far from Grahamastown to do the Arts festival. We had teenagers that also enjoyed the stay . We would recommend this to all travelers.

    Perfect gem on Eastern Cape coast. Makarios has the most beautiful views on the Bushmans River. Doug & Stella needed was provided, you really thought of everything! We will definitely return to your wonderful spot if we are ever in town again. The breakfast was amazing and the morning chats. I Highly recommend this place to everyone.

    We loved everything. Doug & Stella just have the most perfect place, we only wish we could have been there longer but we are going to make a plan for that. The hospitality was just un-matched in any of the Guest houses we have stayed at.

    Beautiful view over the river and adjacent forest. Peaceful and quiet area with Impala roaming the estate. The room is very comfortable, beautifully decorated with good quality coffee and mini bar. A lovely stay that is highly recommended. Not easy to find but surely worth the effort!

    Makarios has a great location, set high on the banks of Bushmans River. Our room had great views and was spacious and comfortable as was the bathroom, which was beautiful. The hosts, Doug and Stella, were friendly and incredibly helpful, taking careful consideration of our dietary requirements and providing delicious wine for sundowners. We would definitely go back!

    A Delightful, warm, charming home with the bests hosts you could ever want. Doug and Stella made our vacation one to remember. Both wonderful cooks we where spoilt rotten with delicious vegan and vegetarian breakfasts. Attention to detail, with thoughtful personal touches and insight into the local restaurants and activities made us our family feel very special. Any one who spends time at the beautiful Makarios is truly blessed. ❤️
