El Rietfontein Ostrich Palace se estableció el 1897 en la granja de avestruces activa más antigua de la Colonia del Cabo. Ofrece visitas privadas a rebaños de avestruces, una tienda de curiosidades y una piscina al aire libre.

    Beautifully furnished and decorated converted chapel giving complete privacy and comfort. Large comfortable bed with electric blanket. Seating area with complimentary drinks. Fresh flowers brightened up the room. Large bathroom with bath, shower and separate toilet room. Area for to making tea, coffee and small fridge. Chance to meet the three resident ostriches and get to know the two friendly dogs. Welcoming hosts and delicious 5 course evening meal (and breakfast too). Easy to find the property as located just off a main road

    Extremely nice hospitable people who go out of their way to make you happy during your stay. The dinner was awesome - quality and presentation 10 out of 10 and breakfast was even better if that was possible. We were amazed at this place and will make sure that we go again.

    Quiet farm setting and the energetic collie dog. She must have ran the equivalent of several kilometers while accompanying me during my short walk to view the various sheep paddocks

    Well located on way to/from Oudtshoorn and the Garden Route. The setting at the foot of the mountains provided lovely views particularly at sunset. Elmare is a fabulous chef and goes beyond expectations at dinner and breakfast, ably supported by Kobus and their small staff. Well appointed room and bathroom in a separate annexe. Overall a very pleasant stopover.

    A memorable 2 night stay in the Ostrich Palace which is situated near the beautiful "Red Mountains" A delightful room with antique furniture and quality linen on a very comfortable bed. The hosts, Kobus and Elmare were extremely hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. Elmare is an outstanding chef who prepares scrumptious meals, creatively plated. We have traveled quite extensively in South Africa and elsewhere and the Ostrich Palace compares more than favourably with similar establishments anywhere. It really is worth a visit.

    Everything, Owners and Staff were excellent, couldn't fault them on anything. The food Elmare prepares is out of this world. The dogs Russell and Emma were very to walk around with you. The pool area overlooking the mountains takes the money shot photo. Well worth a visit..

    We regularly stay here on our way south, it is a real gem and Elmarie cooks the best Ostrich ever.
