Everything was nice about this place. The owner is very nice. He has created a beautiful house that's situated in an area of outstanding national beauty. The facilities are clean and beautiful as are the common rooms overlooking the forest. Too bad we couldn't try the tofu restaurant that's nearby. Maybe next time.

A charming chalet in the forest, about 20mins by walk to the famous Kumanoza-jinja, 10mins from Tsukimawari Onsen, great experience to have a walk in the woods and rice fields, it is lovely the host Satoru has shared with us his hand made map. We don’t have a car, Satoru is so nice to drive us to the bus station at 7H00 in the morning of his birthday. It is in deed not handy to reach here without a car, but the hotel is near the bus stop of round town bus from Takamori station. There is also a family sized onsen and a cozy salon in the hotel.

Although the host is looks fierce but actually he is a nice guy after talking with him. It was surprisingly me when I knew he was busy in searching for us some attraction places that suitable to our group. The host recommended us to a restaurant (田乐) for dinner, which is nearby to the Sanrinsha. It's highly recommend to you !

Beautiful location, this was by far the best place we stayed during our time driving around Aso National Park.

This gem is a great find. Walk into the house and you at once feel at home, you feel comfortable as if you were in your own home. Your host reminds you of your grandfather, who is very caring and concerned that you are enjoying yourself while staying with him. He will readily supply you with hand drawn maps of the more important places to visit. Eateries and other sites (e.g. Takachiho Gorge) all within driving distances. The place is magical, and if a unicorn or a fairy popped up, I would not be surprised. We truly enjoyed the two days spent there.

The dining area has a lovely, cosy feel with interesting objects displayed. It was relaxing to bring our own food and heat it using the microwave and sit in the communal area to eat. This room, and the travel advice and map from the host, made our stay at Sanrinsha a special and different stay on our tour of Kyushu. The house is surrounded by beautiful trees with a winding path, lit up at night, through them. The shower area has a large, warm bath.

The garden is cute. The location is a good base for exploring the area. The host is passionate about the area. And wants to help and give you tips. But alot of his recommendations were outdated and a tourist traps.

The cottage were quaint and clean. Perfect for my family. Love the set up and the privacy too despite a small cottage. The owner were very helpful and knowledgeable. Love the private onsen too! Overall five star rating from my family
