Friendly staff and excellent customer service. Breakfast very good choice and quality. It has it's quirks but it is an old building in the area.

I never liked it , the room was very small, about 4 drops of water came out the shower, the same as the cold tap , very old and inundated

My boyfriend and I booked this last minute and were not expecting much but it was a really lovely place. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the room was clean and had everything we needed, with a big bathroom. The food was delicious and it was a relaxing place to enjoy a pint in the evening. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent all round brief stay, character features in this 400 year old building throughout. Friendly and helpful staff form checking late evening to checkout the following morning, particularly manager at check out. Although the hotel is opposite a pub, it was a Saturday night and warm weather necessitated having the window open , there was no noise to interrupt our rest. There was also a fan provided in the room, which we welcomed! Breakfast was buffet for all but cooked part, good choice. Also choose from full English, smoked haddock with poached egss or kippers for cooked part. We both had full English which was cooked perfectly. We shall be booking for Christmas when we return south to collect our son from University.

The staff were amazing, Issac could not do enough for us from the moment we arrived. He was polite, respectful, chatty and friendly. An asset to the the company. Gareth the assistant manager was a mindful of information and extremely friendly and helpful. Both evening meal and breakfast was very good and well priced.
