Staff were really friendly and hotel is very central to the town centre. Nice wee pub with a lovely beer garden overlooking the river and meals were fine.

I loved the size of the bath and the bed. We were in the sweetheart abbey. The lady who booked us in and on the bar (Maggie?) was very cheerful and chatty and welcoming.

On arriving we found that the blind would not close, staff were unable to fix the problem and immediately upgraded us to another room, excellent.

Lovely hardworking staff and great breakfast. Very comfortable stay, it’s nice to hear the river at night and doesn’t impact on sleep. The bar and restaurant are both nice cosy places to relax

Rooms very warm, modern and comfortable. Have stayed here previously. Big change from the days when it was the pheasant hotel for many years. Food at breakfast was excellent, omelette saturday (delicious) and full breakfast sunday, again delicious..haggis, black pudding, sausage bacon, potato scone, beans egg. £6.50 if u hadn't included it in your stay which we did. Good choices. Ordered a pizza from the bar at night. Fantastic. Ordered ham and mushroom...none of this plastic gammon out of a packet of cold meat, this was from a gammon joint. Hats off to the chefs. Small things like that make a big difference. Massive towels in the room. Tea/coffee facilities in room.
