    The hotel is nearly 70 years old, built in 1952, it has character, history and charm and the staff are very welcoming. It’s not a chain hotel (as far as I can tell) so I appreciated it for its uniqueness. The gardens and lake were lovely to take in from the balcony and close by for a nature walk.

    A Chinese hotel in the grand old style. Slightly dated but more interesting than the usual modern vanilla hotel chains. Huge rooms and lovely views from the balcony of our lake view room. Staff extremely friendly & helpful, particularly if you try a little Chinese.

    The property is amazing..I was unexpectedly upgraded to a Suite and could not believe the size and comfort of the lovely room. The staff were great, the pool is awesome, the rooms are very clean, the location is quite central and easily accessed via shuttle services to the MTR and HSR train stations. The gym is awesome and the restaurants and cafes first class.

    The Summer-palace style of the Grand Hotel Kaohsiung is captivating and offers a very pleasant surprise. The splendid lake view of our room is certainly a plus. Staff was very kind and we love our sojourn. An innately-romantic and nostalgic setting that exudes the fragrance of history and culture.

    The Grand Hotel is a famous landmark in Taiwan and we were excited to be staying there. The area around the hotel was beautiful with a large lake and walking area close by. The staff were very helpful with all our requests. The hotel is a bit far from the train station but the staff will arrange a taxi for you if you need one.
