El ryokan de estilo japonés de lujo Wanosato ha sido galardonado con el Travelers' Choice de TripAdvisor en 2015, ocupa una pintoresca casa de 160 años de antigüedad de tipo Gassho zukuri con techo de paja y está ubicado en un bosque tranquilo. Cuenta con un baño termal público con suelo de roca, cipreses y vistas a las montañas, conexión WiFi gratuita en el vestíbulo y servicio gratuito de recogida en la estación JR Takayama (20 minutos de trayecto).

Las habitaciones tienen un ambiente tranquilo, suelo de tatami (tejido de paja), cama de tipo futón, TV de pantalla plana, nevera y baño privado con bañera, artículos de aseo gratuitos y secador de pelo. Está permitido fumar en todas las habitaciones, y todas incluyen vistas al río de los alrededores.

El Wanosato Ryokan dispone de jardín, aparcamiento gratuito y servicio gratuito de recogida en la estación de Takayama, que debe reservarse con al menos 1 día de antelación.

Se sirven cenas y desayunos de estilo japonés con varios platos elaborados con productos de temporada en la zona de comedor.

El ryokan se encuentra a 70 minutos en coche de la localidad de Shirakawago y a 25 minutos en coche del centro histórico de Takayama y su mercado matutino. La salida de la autopista hacia Takayama está a 20 minutos en coche del establecimiento.

    Un lugar maravilloso. El menú de 9 platos, inspirados en el otoño y con productos típicos de la zona. Las termas maravillosas. El servicios increíble. Por la noche nos reunimos alrededor del fuego, y mientras degustamos sale caliente, un señor súper simpático nos hacía trucos de magia. La zona es maravillosa, un lugar para relajarte, descansar, disfrutar...magia.

    Diseño de la habitación y del hotel muy bonito. Muy bien para una buena inmersión en la cultura japonesa. Comida tradicional muy rica.

    Everything is perfect here. The natural setting, the impeccable service, the warm and friendly staff, the wonderful meals, all satisfied me to a great extent. I felt upset to leave. Just want to keep it to myself, will not share with others. One of the best roykans in Japan!

    One of the best Ryokans in Japan, and one of the top we did in our 3 weeks Japan tour. If you want to experience luxury in a remote place, with dedicated staff and strong service, great traditional food, excellent onsen, large rooms, incredible view on the river from the room, this is the place. I can still feel the atmosphere of this place, with fireplace and smoke, a gem hdden in the mountains. If you can, go for it!

    The stuff is so nice and helpful. I was upgraded to a bigger room. The location is not that convenient if you don’t drive. However, the hotel offers pick up service from Takayama station. The view around the hotel is spectacular. I love the food which is so fine and delicious. I enjoy the Onsen so much. Don’t forget to try 岩風呂 if you’re there. I will certainly re-visit for next vacation.

    We love the overall unique experience of generous hospitality, tranquility, fantastic ambience, quality food and services. We enjoy the beautiful view from our room and the onsen. This was the best stay we had in Japan.

    The whole experience of staying at Wanosato was incredible. The location in the forest next to the rushing stream and the old farm houses were unique but also very comfortable. Of course our stay was so special because of the wonderful staff.

    The hotel was perfect for changing batteries. The public baths were really nice and clean, the meals were excellent, the room was nice and had a view beyond dreams, the people were really warm, and the small gifts and surprises were charming. Definitely we cannot recommend enough this place, rather than go and experience by yourself.

    Wanosato is a truly magical place. The photos online do not do it justice. From the moment you are warmly greeted until the moment you leave, your every need is taken care of. The location is stunning, the rooms are unique, the food is exquisite and the opportunity to drink hot sake by a bonfire is something we will never forget.
