Bakgatla Resort is located in the north-eastern part of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, near the Bakgatla Gate. The resort offers an outdoor pool, restaurant and a children's playground.

Bakgatla has basic chalets and tented accommodation. The chalets are air-conditioned and feature a kitchenette, at TV and a patio. The tents are equipped with a fan, private bathroom, tea-and-coffee making facilities.

The resort has a restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Barbecue facilities are available.

There is a spa, a souvenir shop. conference facilities and walking trails on site. Staff at the reception can provide information on what to do in the area. Guided game drives within the Pilanesberg National Park can be arranged on advance request.

Pretoria and Johannesburg are within 2.5 to 3.5 hours drive from the resort and the entrance to Sun City can be reached within 40 minutes by car.

    Absolutely fabulous location with friendly staff. The restaurant was great. Breakfast was really good so was dinner with great food and friendly staff.

    The location was great and the luxury safari tent where we stayed was lovely, if in slight disrepair. The general facilities are in disrepair but are very clean. The service and food was great.

    The accommodation exceeded expectations, and the resort catered for our guests even though the place was booked a day before. Particular highlights were the in-room complimentary tea and coffee, which was from quality brands The accommodation although rustic suited our needs perfectly and we were really very happy with the chalet

    Pilanesberg nature reserve is a great place to go to see animals in the wild. We've always been lucky (year round) to have very good sightings. Same this time around. The staff in Bakgatla resort were very friendly. They try hard.

    Warm friendly staff combined with neat, clean and functional facilities provided us with an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was very good every morning, lunch and dinner menus were more than accommodating for our families various tastes. There were sufficient activities available both on site as well as nearby that kept our family engaged and simultaneously allowed us to relax and rest too.
