    Beautiful hotel in a tranquil oasis, not far from city centre, but feels like a world away. Wonderful service, great food and very comfortable, luxurious rooms. Highly recommend!

    We have travelled in Asia for the past 15 years. This small (only 49 rooms) hotel has a fantastic boutique ambience with a exclusive heritage / feeling. Restaurant, SPA, pool, property and service were “top notch”. Do not miss the complimentary activities such as cocktail evening and the guided trip on the railway!

    Pleasant surprised by the upgrade, the complimentary daily activities (we took the circular train and got toured to local markets and tea shop), the croque balls, the massive pool, the free cookies. Staff went above and beyond to delight in expecting the unexpected and I cannot wait to experience belmond again somewhere else!

    The breakfast buffet is incredible - amazing options. The fruit, the pastries, the cheese... wow. The staff couldn’t do more for you - nothing is too much. Our room was beautiful and immaculate. They made my birthday really special.

    Eddie (GM) and his team at Belmond Governors Residence run a first class act. Beautiful property, comfy rooms, seriously good food, exemplary staff. I wouldn’t waste any time considering staying anywhere else in town as this intimate and guest-focussed hotel scores top marks in every aspect. Written from couple who are very well travelled and have very high expectations... Well done to The Governors Residence team —we will be back!

    This hotel is a beautiful, intimate oasis in a quiet neighbourhood but it's just a few minutes ride into town by Grab. The pool was sublime. We lay there listening to the birdsong, watching leaves gently falling to the ground... The staff were exceptional. We felt we got to know everyone and they got to know us. We felt very much at home there.
