    A very pleasant stay in a lovely small town with a full range of facilities and public transport on the doorstep. Excellent centre for walks of all levels in beautiful countryside.

    This was a one night stay for us and it worked as the location was excellent, allowing us to see the area and the town, and make it to the airport the next morning. Lots of stairs, but to be expected almost everywhere in Scotland. The bar was fun and in hindsight we wished we would have eaten in the bar or restaurant as it looked delicious and was fully booked!

    Burts is a very good mid range hotel with really excellent friendly staff great service and a well deserved reputation for its food. On Friday night the bar was packed with people dining. The wine list is not massive but here is something for everyone. There is also a fine dining restaurant with lots of AA rossettes. Burts is well known among the rugby, fishing and shooting fraternities who appreciate the welcome they receive.

    Breakfast was tasty with a continental help yourself section. Hot choice had to be ordered. Food was good albeit service was rather slow. Evening meal was delicious, well presented & food was extremely tasty - good value for money. Very central with good on site parking.

    Comfortable and friendly hotel in the middle of Melrose. Breakfast was very good and I had a very nice meal in the bar in the evening - seemed very popular with the locals and had a nice atmosphere throughout. Room was small (single) but had everything I needed.

    Burts Hotel is located in the centre of the lovely Borders town of Melrose with dedicated car parking. Excellent restaurant with imaginative dishes featuring local and regional ingredients, all beautifully presented. The hotel is genuinely dog friendly.
