It’s all about the location on amazing Ortygia island (the historical city center of Syrakus), only a few minutes from Piazza Duomo and also a few minutes’ walk from the beach. The hostel itself appears to be a “normal” apartment converted into a hostel and is…unusual in mostly an interesting way. It seems that long-term (?) guests are taking care of the place. Something that goes hand in hand with some unprofessionalism and different more-or-less informed people in charge (actually up until the end I did not understand who is in charge), but also with a very laid-back atmosphere. The dorm is spacious, but very basic (and for the price charged I’d suggest is time to buy some new mattresses). There is a huge terrace but unfortunately during the time I was there in complete disarray. Unfortunate as if it were only cleaned up a bit it would invite to lounge and chill. WiFi worked for me very well, but in the upper-bunk it was difficult to charge my phone (I also missed individual lights).

the location is in Ortygia island, not far from the Duomo Piazza of Syracusa. Both the hosts were friendly and provided me with clean bed sheets and towel. Although the facilities are rather poor as far as the bathroom is considered, the sitting room, the narrow place and the WiFi, the hosts are pretty helpful.

It’s kind of a small, family feel Hostel with a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately one of the two bathrooms/toilets broke down just after we arrived and being late Saturday could not get fixed before Monday the earliest. So we took up the kind offer to shift to a nearby B&B. I think it was exceptionally nice of Elizabeth to offer this to us! Thank you so much again Elizabeth. We enjoyed Siracusa, despite it being way more touristy than expected. The location of the hostel is perfect, right in the Centre of Ortigia but situated very quiet in a backyard. You can go for a swim not far from the hostel and all the sightseeing is also close by, including a boat trip around the harbour with Winnie, the dog.

Very nice place. I booked late and arrived in the evening. They were completely fine with it and so welcoming. This is not a fancy place but it feels like coming into someones home and it has such a nice athmosphere. Tthe bunk beds were comfortable and there is a kitchen. I would definitely stay there again.
