    La pareja que te recibe en su casa es sensacional! Nos dieron excelente información para hacer la ruta del Kumano Kodo a pie.

    Me gustó todo, la situación rodeados de naturaleza, la casa tradicional japonesa con todas las comodidades, la gente de alrededor, pero sobre todo los propietarios Yumiko y Simon, amables, buena gente, serviciales y con gran capacidad para entender tus necesidades y preparar excursiones por la zona. 100% recomendable.

    Simon was just amazing. He was so easy to communicate with all day to prepare for our arrival and help us understand how to forward our luggage for our Kumano Kodo hike. He picked us up at the station and drove us to a grocery store and waited patiently while we shopped for dinner, breakfast, and snacks for the hike. The guesthouse feels incredibly authentic, the room was large, we loved eating in our room and we slept well. Simon drove us to the start the next morning and helped make sure we were ready to go.

    Beautiful renovated old style Japanese farmhouse, overlooking a fog laden valley. I had a lovely stay and the owners were very thoughtful and considerate.

    We stayed at this lovely guesthouse for about a week during our stay in Tanabe as part of walking the Kumano Kodo. However as a result of an unexpected medical emergnecy with one of my kids we needed to stay in Tanabe for the week. What a find! Seiko is a consummate host and opened her doors to us as if it was our own home. There are may local restaurants nearby which Seiko can recommend. I would highly recommend Okaasan-chi Guest House.

    Simon and his wife are wonderful hosts. They are a great choice for those who want to explore and hike the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trails. They can provide all the info about Kumano Kodo (his wife works at the Kumano Kodo tourist office). They are super nice and they come to pick you up from the Tanabe station providing a free shuttle service. Last but not least, Simon grows a super good water melon 😃. The house is a newly renovated traditional japanese house.

    So many things. Simon, the owner, is very welcoming, a very friendly person and is decent in having a conversation in English. He picked me up from Kii-Tanabe trainstation to go to the guesthouse. Along the way we went to a big grocery store for stocking up on supplies for the hike. From the guesthouse (higher up on the hill) you can look all the way to the ocean. The room was very spacious, clean, airconditioned and looks fantastic. Simon talked over the planning for the hike which was very convenient. The next morning he took me for a 30 minute ride by car to the trailhead at Takijiri-ori. The complete experience was better than expected. Thanks again. I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough.

    Simon and Yumiko were incredibly warm and helpful people. Their home is lovely and they made us feel very welcome. I'll remember them for a long time.

    Very personal atmosphere, quietness of the location. Owners shuttle you to bus or train station each day.

    Although the location was out of Kii Tanabe, the owners picked us up and dropped us off which was really helpful. They are in a beautiful location in the hill. They were ever so helpful helping us with buses and direction us to the best routes to take. When my daughter left her ring behind they posted it on to us which was really nice of them.
