    The hotel was well furnished and the rooms spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the seating and eating space was good. The food was very enjoyable and very reasonably priced.

    On the positive side, staff were attentive, helpful and courteous, the bar and restaurant food and drink was excellent.

    The bed was exceptionally comfortable! We stayed here several times a few years ago and we were looking forward to an excellent meal in the restaurant - it did not disappoint! Really delicious food and lovely, helpful and attentive staff.

    We was at the smiths Hotel for our 5 Anniversary and handfasting service the hotel did wonders went that extra mile very pleased.

    It was a much bigger hotel than I expected as was the room, the facilities in the room and little touches provided, thank you. The staff checking in and checking out were great as were the breakfast staff and breakfast. I just wish we had not had such a bad journey getting to the hotel as it would have been lovely to have a bit more time in Gretna, we married in Gretna, 26years ago next week and was one of the reasons we wanted to stop there on route to visiting family further north.

    We arrived quite late and the restaurant was closing shortly. The staff were friendly and efficient and our dining experience wasn't compromised at all. And the meal was wonderful!

    The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. The fabrics and furnishings in the rooms are excellent. The bathroom/shower were very good.
