    The hotel was corporate but quirky. Clean and minimalist for the bedrooms/bathrooms with the addition of character and history in the main building. Staff attentive and efficient. Excellent breakfast.

    Great location close to the National Parks and city of York. Buffett breakfast was well organised and with a good selection. As an option for a reasonable price, a 3 course evening meal is available from a set menu. The accommodation is not in the old building, it is in an adjacent more modern structure. The setting is stunning surrounded by parklands and woods.

    Good location for access to York, as a park and ride for the city is about 8 miles away. Accommodation is located in a building adjacent to the main house, ample parking is available within its grounds. A great Breakfast is served in the main house. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value.

    The staff at breakfast were so lovely, breakfast was very nice indeed, more than adequate selection for everyone. A good selection of fresh fruit, pastries, toast, teas, coffee hot food and juices. My room was basic as other reviewers have stated , but for the price you pay more than adequate, clean and tidy. Yes I would definitely recommend this hotel, and yes I would definitely stay again.

    Lovely quiet location. The main building is impressive and full of character. The accommodation block is clean, functional and comfortable but fairly basic. The food in the restaurant is very good and the staff were excellent.
