    The staff are all very polite, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was a standard room and more than adequate but our friend's room was a deluxe and was superb! Very comfortable beds and the hotel is warm, quiet and full of charm and character. There's a very cosy bar and restaurant at the property. The breakfast was outstanding. A little disappointed that the hot tub wasn't hot and the steam and sauna rooms weren't working but it was out of season and all are situated in the garden area. Overall a really nice experience. Would definitely recommend and will return. Didn't visit the spa as closed on the day we were there.

    Fantastic. Great choice of food that was well cooked. Very friendly staff. Great location and free car parking. Very easy to get to and on a main bus route into the city.

    Great stay ,clean rooms staff were excellent going out of their way to make our stay feel special.Cosy surroundings within hotel,breakfast was amazing. All amenities were easy to reach with walking or public transport if required.

    We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and had never been to York, and wanted a quality hotel. The hotel was situated close enough that we could walk into York itself.

    A quirky hotel with surprises around every corner! Magnificent award winning breakfast, excellent restaurant facilities and meals for the evening. We were lucky to have a room upgrade at no charge and had a lovely garden suite which was very roomy and comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly and made our stay very pleasant indeed. I am sure we will be back again in the future, preferably without the rain next time!

    We found the staff excellent, welcoming and helpful. Especially found the gentleman who waited on at breakfast very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, a great range of choice and a well cooked and presented cooked breakfast. Unfortunately my husband was too poorly to have breakfast but the waiter was very helpful when I asked for a tray with coffee and toast and even helped me carry it to our room. The hotel situation is well placed for a walk into Yorks attractions. There was very handy parking at the hotel which we were grateful for especially as we had to cut short our stay as husband poorly. This meant I could pack car and he didn't need to walk far to get in our car.

    Fabulous hotel in an ideal location. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the hotel itself was lovely. Room was very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was outstanding. The gardens and spa facilities are a hidden gem! Will definitely be back.

    The staff are absolutely amazing - so friendly and attentive. The building and the grounds are beautiful and in such a convenient location. Breakfast was also really good, left you stuffed and was a great way to start each day!
